Robbie is awake from surgery #5! He’s now mad about his arm being in a cast, but it’s not going anywhere for a month. Poor buddy.
To explain this wrist tendon transfer surgery: Dr. Oishi loosened fascia on the bottom of his wrist, and strengthened extension muscles on top by putting 2 together. He will have 2 scars, but hopefully improved function of wrist/hand.
Because I have dear friends who have lost loved ones in surgery I take a picture before he goes back for his procedures and kiss him a few extra times. And then pray really hard he either wakes up or I will be strong enough to keep on going if he doesn’t. Having 5 surgeries in his first 2 years has been hard. #Arthrogryposis #AMCstrong #2yearsold
