Thanks for the birthday wishes! Yesterday and today were challenging days so thanks for the happiness the messages brought. 36 started out with:
-Lots of time spent at Dr appointments/x-rays/speech therapy for Robbie.
-Our freezer (the newest appliance we have) deciding to quit, spoiling food and making a mess.
-I called our DME provider to find out why Robbie’s monthly food and supplies didn’t arrive...only to find out new insurance info was never updated when I called a month ago. I’ve been playing phone tag between appointments and it’s STILL not on its way. They are lucky I plan ahead and still have some food for him.
-Robbie’s feeding pump running out of juice at Scottish Rite and I had to delay his feed an hour until we got home and could charge it.
-I got a call saying the SLP wanted to push back Robbie’s video swallow study because he wasn’t ready...even though it’s been 1.5 years since the last one.
-I didn’t see an email from Dylan’s baseball coach sent yesterday afternoon that today’s practice was moved to yesterday. So we missed yesterday and we showed up 10 minutes early tonight for nothing. I took him to Scouts instead since he usually has to miss, but he was 30 minutes late because I had to pick up Colton from piano first.
-Autrey’s new later work schedule is kicking my butt for getting kids to their activities on my own. Yesterday I didn’t feel like going out to eat late with all the kids so I cooked my birthday dinner. And then went to bed because Autrey had a late softball game.
-I cried the entire way home from Scottish Rite. Exhaustion? Frustration? Mom guilt? Thyroid medicine levels off? Probably all of it. Just one of those days where I felt like I was sucking at life and needed a nap to get through it. But then I saw this trophy and card from Dylan and felt a little better. I can’t be screwing up that badly if my kids are this sweet, right? The boys aren’t aware of half of what I do for our family day in and day out, but it felt nice to be appreciated. Here’s to a better rest of 36!
