Legoland and Coronado Island Spring Break

The Duke crew flew to San Diego to go to Legoland and Coronado Island for part of spring break.  It was so much fun!  The boys were in heaven with all the Legos and getting to play at the beach.

Legoland Safari ride:
 Driving school:

 Firemen at work:

Luke and Princess Leia at the Star Wars exhibit:
Colton was fascinated by all of the characters and just stared at them:
 The Death Star:
Darth Vader made out of Legos:
Getting some rides in before going to the water park portion of the park:
Kids can play with Legos while parents wait in the ride lines and save their spots.  Genius!:
The Legoland Hotel is the coolest kid hotel ever!  The dancing disco elevators were awesome.  They even had bunk beds:

Dylan was so excited to get his Lego loot from our room's treasure box after the scavenger hunt.  And thanks for the Lego Star Wars pjs, G-ma!:
Hanging with his treasure box buddy in the morning.  (Early morning.  They woke up at 4:45 am because of the time change.  They had the entire lobby castle to themselves before breakfast. And that was the morning BEFORE Daylight Savings.  Sheesh.):
 Day 2 at Legoland:
After we met Emmet, we went to the 'basement' room where they filmed the end of The Lego Movie.  The attention to detail is amazing:
 Train engineer:
Building a tower inside the adventure hideout:
 Duplo excavator:
 Driving the boat:
Lego version of the Teacup ride:
Lego soldier, with a gun bigger than Dylan:
Waiting to see the 4D Lego Chima movie:
Our hotel balcony on the beach at the Hotel del Coronado:

 Beach boys:
Making sand angels and burying themselves.  Earlier this week they made snow men.  Life is good!:
Aut caught a little hermit crab, who became a temporary resident of the boys' sand castle:
Better view of tiny Herman the Hermit (in the yellow shovel):

 Twinners:
 Little Twinners:
 Silly faces:
Love this shirt Meagan Kemp gave Dylan.  Perfect for the trip. (And Colt's was too.  Thanks, G-ma!):
Beach bike ride:
Papa livened up the bike tour/leg workout with his steering and curb hopping:
The bridge between San Diego and Coronado Island:
Dylan was so excited to get home to open his souvenir Star Wars Lego X-wing fighter plane.  He followed the instructions and did it all by himself.  I was impressed:
Thanks for the fun trip, Mimi and Papa!  Fun escape from the cold and ice storms we had in Texas!
