Na na na na na na na na BATMAN Halloween!

We were a little Batman family this year.  Thanks, G-ma, for the Batman and Robin costumes! Autrey's Riddler costume he made is my favorite.  That was a tan suit he got at Goodwill for a work party the Halloween I was on bed rest with Dylan.  He dyed it green and sprayed the question marks on it.  Clever Riddler.

Fun one-on-one time with my little buddy.  We won a prize for our costumes: Free admission to our next Toddler Time at Altitude.  Score!:

Pumpkin Patch

Colton and I went to the Pumpkin Patch with the Parents as Teachers program.  It was so fun.  I am sad Dylan is in school and can't go on these field trips any more, but I enjoyed going with Colt and the crew.

Carra Goold, Melissa Fullmer, and I meandered around together:

Update - Since School Started

Dylan gets to go to 'Super School'.  The emPOWER theme is perfect for this superhero loving boy:
I took Colton to Altitude to be with superheroes too.  I love my little hybrid hero:
Video of a little portion of the Avengers "show":
The weekly running group photo:

The boys decided to build a cage for Frankie.  They even gave him a dead fly.  How thoughtful:
Running group.  I told Colton he could join the picture since he ran a lap with me:
Every lap on the run that day I got to look at this LDS chalk art.  Made me happy:
Eating lunch at school with Dylan:
My $100 Craig's List piano with a few sticky keys needed four visits to tune it twice and replace all of the grommets, which came out to an additional $465.  Turns out the 'nearly new' piano was built in 1965 and probably hadn't been tuned since then.  Sheesh.
Sept. 11th: Patriot's Day.  We will never forget.  The Blue Angels were practicing for their Air Show and flew over our house a few seconds after I took this picture:
Mimi and Papa, Tommy and Tyler, and Ms. Marissa all came to Dylan's Primary program.  He had his part memorized.  Actually, Colton had Dylan's part memorized, too. I got released from the Primary Presidency that day.  I am now the Young Women's assistant sports director/coach.  That's totally my jam.  I love it:
Lego fruit snacks.  Yes, that happened:
Autrey, Matt, Mimi, and Papa had a 3-week weight loss challenge before going to Maggie's baptism.  Autrey won handily with 11 lbs lost.  He was very disciplined and weighed all of his food on our food scale. Here is an example of one day in his food journal he kept.  He has kept 10 of them off without doing the restricted calculations he was doing then.  I'm proud of him for being more health conscious:
 Play group at Bicentennial Park:

Babysitting for Date Swap.  They almost ate an entire watermelon:
Colton ran between .5-.75 of a mile with me.  So proud of my exercise buddy:

 Playing with pirate Tyson:
Autrey made this soccer goal out of PVC pipe, concrete, rope, and zip ties.  It took him 5 hours to tie all the knots.  He's Super Dad:
 Hanging with Tyson again:
Colton is 2 lbs under the weight limit and his feet are longer than the seat.  When did he get so big?
He deserved a ride at the Grapevine Mills mall after shopping:
Starting to cool down to run.  Woo hoo!

Playing with the Halloween house my Grandma Miller made:

Colton's little orange and green bike broke and Dylan was about ready for a bigger bike, so we let Dylan pick out his 20" size birthday bike early and Colt got the Lightning McQueen bike.  One new bike, two happy boys:

They love to play in the rain:
Video of the boys splashing in the rain...all 3 of them. Luckily we never got the brunt of Hurricane Patricia:
Today was crazy hair and socks day for Red Ribbon week.  The best part of those socks is the Ninja Turtle faces on the back side.  And little brother was not about to be left out of the fun:
Update since school started:

*Dylan watched a clip of how they tap trees to make syrup.  He asked, "Are they making syrup so they can put it on their pancakes on Sundays?"

*Dylan loves kindergarten and his 2nd year of piano at Let's Play Music.

*I read the class newsletter and asked Dylan about something.  He looked at me and asked, "Did my teacher send you a text about that?"

*D: "My teacher told me that metacognition is thinking about your thinking."  Another day he said, "I'm an attentive listener.  I listen like I'm supposed to."

*Dylan gets to pick a prize at the end of the week if he has stayed on 'green' all 5 days.  He has only been on yellow twice this year for 1) talking and 2) not focusing on his work.  When he picks a prize, the next week he usually picks the same thing so Colt can have one too.  So sweet.

*D: "On the 100th day of school we will have a field trip.  I want you to go...so I don't have to tell you about it."  Seriously?

*Dylan likes to eat an entire avocado by himself, plain.

*Dylan went an entire mile the other day in 14 minutes.  He had to walk most of the 3rd lap, but not bad for his first time.  He wants to do the Raindeer Romp, so I told him he needed to practice.

*While the opening music plays during Conference, "Remember when we went to Temple Square and that Conference Center?"

*D: "Following Lego instructions is like following God's plan."

*Colton: "Bad blood means fighting with someone.  We don't want bad blood, just good blood."  Increased vocabulary courtesy of Taylor Swift.

*Colton is tall enough to turn the bathroom lights on and off by himself to go potty.

*I'm kind of relieved I got released from being in the Primary Presidency, and the Relief Society Presidency before that.  I was getting burned out and it broke my heart when Colton would say, "Do you get to read books with me tonight or do you have another meeting?  I miss you when you're gone."  Now I get to be with them more.  That makes me happy.

*Colton loves oatmeal with peaches/blueberries or apples/raisins.  Dylan prefers eggs.

*C during Conference: "Opposums?"
  Me: "No, apostles."

*C while listening to a native Spanish speaker during Conference: "He speaks funny English."
  Aut: "It's his accent."
  C: "Yes, it's an accident."

*C: "Are the pandas going to the wild west?"
D: "No.  The wild west is for cowboys."

*"I'm not hurt.  I'm a tough boy."

*Me: "My water bottle is red like your shirt."
  C: "Yup, you are correct."

*Me: "You're adorable."
C: "No, babies are adorable.  I'm handsome."

*At church in Sequim, WA the bishop said, "We have some ward business."
C: "Did he say Lord Business?"
