Spring Break in Tampa, Florida

We went with Mimi and Papa on a quick beach getaway for the first part of Spring Break. We stayed at a beach house owned by the late George Steinbrenner (former owner of the Yankees). Poor Matt and Allyson got hosed checking in at the airport and missed the flight...and had to go to urgent care for Hayley twice within 24 hours with the flu (at least she didn't have walking pneumonia like Tyler had the week before we left), but after the first day the trip got better.  Autrey and I went on the most relaxing/scenic 4 mile beach run.  He would probably beg to differ on the relaxing part, but I'm glad he joined me.  A black racer snake went right through Autrey's legs at the fence as he was rinsing sand off the boys so they could get into the pool and hot tub.  Wish I would have caught that on film! The entire rest of the trip he tried to catch it, and came close once.  The cousins would have been happy digging and swimming forever:

Only in Florida can you feed alligators while you play mini golf:

We had dinner at "Bubble Gums" (I love that the boys called it that).  Papa's favorite movie is Forrest Gump so it was a novelty.  They had all kinds of shrimp.  My favorite was the coconut shrimp.  I love that the bench had Forrest's suitcase, box of chocolates, and shoes:
It was foggy and overcast the last day:

Thanks for taking us with you, Mimi and Papa!
