Utah Trip

A few days after preschool ended, we celebrated our 10th anniversary and Matt blessed baby Hayley.  Then the next day the boys and I flew to Utah for 2 weeks.  The morning we flew out I took Dylan to the Dr because he was congested and coughing and about to be around cousins and G-pa, who had just gotten over pneumonia.  Dr. K was in Hawaii, and by the time they tracked down her replacement, who had double booked herself in another city, I had been waiting for an hour and a half.  The nurse said he had an ear infection, I drove to pick up his antibiotics, then went to the airport.  Then, after multiple delays and rerouted flights, we flew on 3 flights and finally made it to The Burrow at 2:30 am.  So getting to Utah was not fun, but it was worth it to see my family!

A few hours after I woke up that 1st morning we went swimming at the Orem Rec Center:
Good lookin' G-ma with the grandkids (except Gideon):

We took the Front Runner train up to Salt Lake to see Temple Square.  That train ride was an adventure.  We laughed a lot...and Ashlyn may or may not be traumatized by closing train doors.  And elevator doors, for that matter.  She is a sweetheart and was so afraid someone was going to be left behind:
Dylan brought the Lego magazine G-ma gave him to read.  (Actually, he wanted me to read it to him again yesterday.  It has been read and loved, G-ma!)

I love to see the temple:
Dylan trying to tell everyone not to go in that door:

Chris getting fresh with G-ma.  Makes me laugh every time I see this one:
 Oh, Chris:

 Outside the Conference Center:
 Blurry shot inside:

The Manti Millers came up to spend a day with us.  With the great-grandkids:

 Showing grandma the Legos:

Playing with Desiree's old Polly Pockets:
Playing with the doll house.  Apparently pink toys are a novelty to them:

 Playing in the rain:

 Saying good-bye to the Millers:
Ken drawing super hero symbols for the kids:

This is why I might be ok with mom and dad never putting grass in their yard.  Made for great tractor and four-wheeling rides:

This...
  turned into this:
Miller Beach:
 Hot dog and marshmellow roasting:

Mom's cousin has a ranch with horses up the canyon.  Dylan called the horse he rode Dunny, like Irma's horse he rode a year or two ago.  All horses will always be Dunny to him.  I guess it's better than Buck, the horse's actual name.  Who wants to put their precious kids on a horse named Buck?
We learned that the twins both get car sick, just like Kristen and Ashlyn.  They both threw up on the drive up the canyon within 10 minutes of each other.  So we have Lady Godiva, waiting to get a replacement shirt:

The kids slept really well after riding the horses, even though they had a cinnamon roll.  The grown ups went to see the new Jurassic World movie while G-ma and G-pa stayed with the kids.

Uncle Ken, human jungle gym:
We went swimming at mom's friend Marilyn's house to swim.  Our PA friend, Serena, came with her kids to join us:

 GG and Grandpa:
Eating peaches, right outta the bottle with 3 forks...as it should be:
Clearly weren't fast enough and had to share with the minions:
 Puppy blanket:
G-ma and G-pa with their grandkids:
Boys playing with G-ma and G-pa's virtual cat.  It isn't theirs, but they feed it and it's always around the back porch:

The first thing the boys always did is wake up and play in the dirt in their pjs.  After an hour or so they came in to have a bath and get dressed for the day.  Again, no grass turned out to be a good thing:

We hiked up Battle Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove to the waterfall.  The boys walked up all by themselves:

Can you see how dirty their faces are?

 Morning dirt again:
I had a Texas day.  My sweet friend, Annalee, came up from Nephi to hang out.  Later I went and saw Meagan Kemp in Draper and the kids played.  I didn't get any pics because magic man Cash was having a rough day and there wasn't really a good chance to, but I figured I would get one the next time we hung out.  Then she had to cancel on a "just us" hangout because their new business, Chiro Fusion, needed her attention.  Next time!
I had a BYU roomie day as well.  I went to a morning session at the Oquirrh Mt temple with Ali...
Then saw her again when we had dinner at Traci's:
My cousin, Katie, got married while I was out there.  She had her reception at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course club house (the old Holdaway farm).  It was like another reunion:

We were trying to recreate a picture of us at Mike's wedding, before we had a total of 17 kids between us:
Reception fireworks:
Getting ready for the sparkler exit tunnel:

It's all fun and games until it starts to get "close" to the fingers.  Enjoyment to sheer terror in 1 second. Does it make me a bad mom that I find this picture hilarious?  Probably.
 Boating with grandma Holdaway:

Water skiing, my favorite summer sport:

One ski, one foot, one hand.  Taking out the back foot lasted for about half a second before I wiped out each time.  Balance isn't what it used to be:
The videos are too long for me to include here.  Darn it.

Teaching the boys to ski on the H-board:
Colton actually stood up all the way.  He's a brave little dude.  He had to sit on my head to do it, but a win nonetheless.  The video is too long of Colt standing up and riding it...with me hanging on for dear life.  What an upper body work out!:

 Snacks with GG:
Queens of the tube, Hannah and Desiree':

 Boat crew:
At the Scera with Tyler/Melissa and Mo to see Inside Out:

 Father's Day:

Josh and Dad were Twinners:
 At the BYU Bean Museum:

Farewell lunch with GG and Grandpa:
Good bye to Meagan.  We all happened to wear stripes:
G-ma gave the boys their Halloween costumes early.  They are soooo excited!

Ken (aka-The Batman) is very proud:

Video also too long of them jumping.  Strike 3.
G-ma got to see Colt wearing the Captain America costume she got him:
Saying good-bye to G-ma and G-pa...and their Legos:
It was such a great trip!  Love and miss you guys!
