Sir Dylan's Knight and Dragon Birthday Party

My little Dylan is now a big 4 years old.  In keeping with our recent tradition, his birthday party theme revolved around our Halloween costumes.  This party was really fun, and not just because I got to be the princess.  I like having birthday parties and seeing how much fun everyone has.  With 14 adults and 17 kids on Saturday at times it bordered on controlled chaos with food and catapults and swords and shields and presents, but it was awesome.

The invitations (redacted for my privacy):

The triple layer chocolate candy castle cake, complete with towers and a drawbridge:

The food:
'Dragon tail' croissant sandwiches, cheese stick 'swords' with Ritz 'shields', 'dragon egg' grapes, 'castle carrots', 'dragon dip', 'princess pineapple', 'dragon food' goldfish, 2 types of 'dragon scale' chips, and lemonade 'dragon drink':
And the fire breathing dragon drink cups:

That's not chocolate on his lip, it's blood.  He walked in front of the Tommy swinging and got clobbered 10 minutes before the party started.  Oops:
"I'm 4!"
The party planners:
What can I say?  Good lookin' knight.
(I need to remember not to let my nose get all smashed up next time.  Looks silly.):

Present time:

Post party relaxation:

After nap time we went to Grimaldi's for pizza (or Giovani's or whatever else Matt kept calling it) and then to the Gaylord Texan Hotel for indoor tubing and to see the ICE! Nutcracker sculptures:
Mimi decided her coat was warm enough and much better looking:

Dylan got a little stuck:
But I didn't:

Love Dylan's dinosaur hat Melinda Hecht crocheted for him:

So glad the Duke crew could join us to celebrate Dylan's birthday.  We sure know how to pack our weekends full of fun!  Happy birthday, Dylan!  We love you, buddy!

  1. Lovely indeed! Everything is so well planned and nicely arranged on tables. Theme is also a great one for kids. My sister in law also organized a super cool birthday for her friends at one of the high rated event space NYC last week. Also announced her wedding date. Really was an exciting day with mouth watering cuisines.
