End of School Year Events...and Tons of Dr. Appointments

PSA: If you impulsively stick your hand in a hospital elevator door as it is only inches away from closing IT WILL NOT STOP AND AUTOMATICALLY OPEN AGAIN. You will get stuck and have to call for the nearest person to hit the button so it will open. #firsthandknowledge #icrackmyselfup #almostliterally #ineedmoresleep

Who decides to fit in 10 doctor appointments the last week of school before insurance changes in June? This girl. It was exhausting but I did it. It never would have been possible without the help of friends and family! My in-laws especially have a very special place in my heart for coming up to watch the boys and learning to use the feeding pump. Here's the latest on Robbie and I:
-Robbie:
*Pediatrician check up: Robbie's 4 mo stats: 11 lb 15 oz (3%), 25 in (50%)...Although he was measured 24.25 in long today at a different appt. I'm glad we already had an appt Mon because Sunday night he got a goopy eye and a cough after being in close proximity to so many people over the weekend. Back to being really careful about letting people hold him. Please know I want you to be able to hold him and love on him but I can't pass him around, for his safety. ðŸ˜” Also, Colt's 5 year stats: 45.75 in (95%), 50.2 lbs (90%)
*The neurologist at Cook's looked at his recent MRI and determined he has only a borderline Arnold Chiari malformation which shouldn't cause problems for him. The left side of his brain has a small area that might have been caused by an injury right after birth (from blood pressure or blood sugar levels) but she's not concerned. He is going to have an MRI of his spine done in conjunction with a different surgery already scheduled in September to make sure he doesn't have a tethered cord.
*Follow up with Surgeon went well. The granulation tissue around the G-Button is very minor.
*The Early Childhood Intervention physical therapist came to work with him. She was nice enough to come after Stevan Autrey Duke got home so he could be there and speak her PT language.
*We went to Scottish Rite to meet with the lower extremity specialist and to get his new leg braces. We go back next week for more x-rays and to meet with the neurologist that did the Botox injections in his legs.
*Today we went to the GI Dr and modified his eating schedule to run his last feed continuously with the pump at night so I don't have to set alarms to do them anymore. I'm going to start sleeping through the night! Woo hoo!!!
-Me:
*My vascular surgeon had already closed 4 of my veins over the last month that had been giving me trouble and this week I had appts to remove 3, including the one that had a blood clot despite costly blood thinning injections. My entire left leg is bruised and I have to rock to compression socks for a while, but glad it's taken care of and insurance covered it. I thought about showing pics, but decided I already post too much information for some people. No need to gross you out as well. #imsovein
*I went to my endocrinologist to discuss the 3 nodules that showed up on an ultrasound of my thyroid recently. I will get a biopsy next month and I really hope they are benign. For better or for worse my life's been too chaotic to even dwell on what happens next if they aren't. But only happy thoughts now because IT'S SUMMER!!!
