Thyroid Nodules...Cancer scare #2

The picture on the right is what the specialist drew of the nodules in my thyroid this afternoon.
3 months after Robbie was born and we were desperately trying to navigate his rare condition and keep him alive I went to the dr because I had mastitis, again, and a sore throat. My dr at the time asked how long I had the lumps on my neck. I had never noticed them before.
Sent for ultrasound, then biopsy. Came back negative. Cried tears of relief after spending a month thinking I had cancer while Robbie was having surgery to get his G-tube/Nissen Fundoplication. Told the 3 nodules were a result of stress and lack of sleep. Moved on with my life knowing that wouldn’t change.
A few weeks ago my new Dr felt my neck during my hypothyroid check up/blood draw. Suggested I get another ultrasound. New nodule and one of the previous ones changed and is giving them cause to take a closer look.
The specialist is going to have an invasive radiologist look at the ultrasound results with him to determine whether another biopsy is warranted. Biopsies aren’t fun. Waiting is just as bad. I’ve already known for a few weeks this would be a possibility. I should know Monday if I have to go have another one done.
Until then, this mama’s life goes on and most of the people around me (especially my boys) won’t have a clue unless I have told them. Mamas are tough and good at hiding the hard stuff, but sometimes it’s ok to take a break and not be ok.

My thyroid biopsy is scheduled for Tuesday Nov 12 and I will be at the hospital for a few hours that morning. Hoping for the same cancer-free result as my 2017 biopsy even though I have a new nodule and the large one has grown and changed.
Sherrie-Kaye Holdaway Miller is already going to be here to help out for a week and a half during part of Robbie’s 5 week Intensive Outpatient Feeding Therapy that starts this Monday and ends just before Thanksgiving. So she gets to help both of us. Two birds, one stone. So grateful she’s only a flight away. ❤️
Update: I just got off the phone with OCH a few minutes ago and both of Robbie’s insurances just denied it so the intensive is canceled for this month. We will have to wait until at least March when he’s been out of the hospital longer and can prove necessity. Once again they cut it close letting me know since it was to begin on Monday. 😏
