Robbie's Brain MRI results and Leg Update (from Oct and December 2017)

My notes from the Neurologist appt at Cooks
Learning to bear weight with Martha, his awesome PT:

Autrey noticed Robbie needed new braces:

Scottish Rite X-rays:
On the 12th, my dad's birthday, this little guy turned 11 months old. He is 29.5 inches (80%) and 18 lb 5 oz (18%).
The x-rays at Scottish Rite last week showed both knees curving at the proximal head of the tibia, however the shafts are straight and good range is achieved on both knees. His hips look good and in place, but haven't ossified yet as they typically do in most babies.
It was detemined following the x-rays that in January he will be undergoing an open reduction surgery on both his knees, which means the doctor will release the iliotibial band and mobilize the joint. She will possibly do an osteotomy, which is the surgical cutting/removal of a piece of bone, in this case the femur, if she can't get enough quad length to get the joint in place.
The plan is to do both knees at once, but the procedure is pretty intense so if his little body shows signs of stress they will stop after the first one. I'm crossing my fingers it can be done all at once so we can avoid additional anesthesia and stretching this into 4 months of surgery, casting, surgery, and casting again. It's going to be another year of hospital 'vacations' but it will be totally worth it if he can start bearing weight properly and therefore be able to stand and hopefully walk. I should be sleeping right now but the wheels in my head won't stop spinning.
